- Volunteer your time/resources to a local non-profit
animal advocacy group in your pet's name. The Cat Doctor, PA
can put you
in contact with several excellent and needy local organizations.
- Frame a favorite photograph or put one in your
wallet.
- Write an obituary recalling favorite stories and
memories. "The
Boise Weekly" prints pet obituaries and The Cat Doctor, PA
will
post them in their reception area if requested.
- Let your family and friends know of your loss.
- Make a journal or scrapbook of your pet's life.
- Write a letter to your pet expressing your grief -
put it in a special place.
- Create a likeness of your pet, such as a drawing or
clay sculpture.
- Put fur from your pet in a locket.
- Place their pet tag on your key ring.
- Have a plaque made to honor your pet and put it in
a special place, perhaps with the ashes or near a favorite spot in the
garden.
- Plant a bush, tree, or flowers - or place a bench
- in their name, near their grave.
- Place the ashes in a favorite garden spot or in a
favored house plant
- If your pet is buried elsewhere take a photo of
that spot and keep it in a special place.
- Consider having the ashes put in a beautiful urn or
crystal vase.
