Cat Care by Cat People…

Our highly trained medical team of veterinarians, veterinary technicians and assistants are focused on providing top quality medical care delivered with respect and compassion.

Windows in our exam rooms, surgery suite and hospital treatment area provide natural light that promotes a comfortable, healing environment for your cat. Pheromone diffusers are used throughout our building as “aromatherapy” to help our patients feel secure and at ease.

We are committed to your cat’s health and wellness, and pride ourselves on respecting and understanding feline nature. Our staff has the experience and training needed to handle your cat safely and humanely, even those that prefer not to be held! We do not, and have never, used nets or muzzles to restrain our patients.

Keeping you and your cat together can alleviate much of the anxiety that can be associated with a visit to the vet. Whenever possible, we like you to be present for your cat’s medical treatments such as vaccines, testing and other procedures that are performed during your cat’s examination.

Medical ServicesAppointments: Our doctors offer annual, semi-annual, kitten and senior physical examinations that are generally scheduled for 30 minutes. More extensive examinations, such as behavioral consultations, referrals and examinations for those seeking a second veterinary opinion are scheduled for longer periods of time.

Vaccinations: Not all vaccines are created equal! We use the safest vaccines available, and our doctors follow the feline-specific vaccine recommendations provided by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).

Your cat’s doctor will perform a risk-benefit assessment and tailored vaccination plan that considers your cat’s lifestyle and living situation.

Surgery: Patient safety and comfort are our top priority when performing any anesthetic procedure. Utilizing specialized equipment, one of our qualified medical team members monitors the vital signs of each anesthetized patient. The surgery table is kept warm and soft towels are placed under each patient during surgery.

Our doctors use the safest anesthetics and offer several types of pain control to ensure a safe and speedy recovery. Laser surgery, which means less pain, less swelling and less bleeding, is available for some procedures.

Testing and Screening: Our hospital is equipped with an in-house laboratory for fecal, urine and blood tests that require immediate results. A reputable referral laboratory is used for more comprehensive testing. Either way, our doctors interpret the findings, and you will be contacted with a plan for your cat.

Radiology: Radiology is one of the most important and least invasive diagnostic services that can be used in veterinary medicine today. We offer both full body and dental radiographs in-house and offer referral ultrasound services that are usually done in our office with your cat’s doctor present.

Pharmacy: Our pharmacy is stocked with the safest and most effective feline medications. As many of us who are owned by cats know, pill time can be a challenge! To make it a little easier on you and your cat, we carry many liquid medications, and can order compounded (flavored) and transdermal (topical ointments) medications. We also carry Pill Pockets and Flavordoh, which turn pill time into treat time. We also carry the largest selection of dry and canned feline prescription diets in the Treasure Valley. If you aren’t currently carrying the feline prescription diet you need, ask us about ordering it.
