A No Needle Vaccine!! Cool!!

By Dr. Alexis Higdon

There is a new Feline Leukemia Vaccine. It is painless, safer, more effective and uses less volume of vaccine!

This liquid vaccine is driven painlessly across the skin through an opening smaller than the diameter of a human hair, creating a consistent, broad dispersion of the vaccine to specific immune cells for starting the immune response, which doesn’t happen as effectively with a needle injection. The time it takes to “give” the vaccine is less than 0.3 seconds!

This revolutionary PureVax Leukemia vaccine uses only the specific DNA particles from the virus necessary to stimulate immunity, which are carried into the body by a harmless Canarypox Virus. Therefore, the cat’s immune system responds only to the Feline Leukemia virus DNA.

Traditional Leukemia vaccines inject, using a needle, filled with a high concentration of killed Feline Leukemia Virus and a product called “adjuvant”. Adjuvant is a chemical recipe that stimulates the cat’s body to respond to the killed virus resulting in immunity. This method increases the risk of allergic, or hypersensitivity, reactions both at the injection site and systemically. And, although not proven, inflammation at the injection site has been implicated in causing certain types of tumors in cats.

If Fluffy is at risk of being exposed to Feline Leukemia, and she has a choice between the PureVax Transdermal Feline Leukemia vaccine or a traditional killed vaccine, which do you think she would prefer? It’s paws down for the painless, safer, and quicker protection!
